hello all,
I am 22, and suffering ED from 2 years.causes unknown. I want to know whether too much masterbation can cause this. but it is not getting cured now even if i dont masterbate for a month! I also suffer side effects of medication.
Please help me to get rid of this problem.
Thank You.

What medication? How long have you been taking it? What is the dosage?

Ike say:

If you bend you cock, too much, while jacking off, you can break blood vessels; and this could be very difficult, if not impossible to fix - except with an implant. There are all kinds of medications that can cause problems: Blood pressure meds, beta blockers, tranquilizers, anti-depressants, speed, ... etc.

Hi, I am also 22 years old an suffering ED for almost three years now. I hope we can share experiences and help each other out on our problem. What kind of medication did you take?

Hey you two guys -- you definitely NEED to see a good urologist who will do necessary tests to diagnose the cause of you ED. Excessive masturbation definitely DOES NOT cause ED. If it did, alot more guys would have ED (i've got friends who say they do it 2-3xday, and they don't have ED). Can you describe the circumstances of your ED? Can you achieve an erection but not maintain it? Or can you not get a full erection at all? Does the problem only show up when you have sex with someone, but you can masterbate without any ED? Now, since you guys are so young and experiencing ED, the focus on cause would be either psychological (i.e., performance anxiety, which pumps adrenalin into your system, which kills erections) or blood inflow (arterial problems) or blood outflow (venous leakage) problems. With older men (40's and on), the causes would focus on heart/circulation issues, diabetes (neuropathy of nerves to penis), overweight issues, blood pressure issues, etc. --- all issues that young men do not really have. Also, there may be a testosterone level issue with young guys that produces both ED but also low labido -- since its sounds like you materbate often, you have a strong sex drive, and so i don't think hormonal issues is your problem. So, go to a urologist and figure it out --- the sooner the better. ANd if you get a urologists that doesn't want to perform the necessary tests, and just dismisses you with a prescription for viagra or cialus, then get a second opinion. I'm in my early 30's and that's what my first urologist did. I've had chronic ED since early 20's and my first urologist said, "i see nothing wrong here, your in excellent healthy, its all psychological and here's viagra to build up your confidence again"....i didn't take that answer, because i NEEDED to know for sure the exact cause. So, do your research, and get a better urologist, i did. I'm in New York City and can give you two really good thorough urologists manes if youre here -- Dr. Mulhall being the best -- who will do a thorough job. So, these "tests" i've been talking about. I've had the dopler ultra sound to measure the pressure of blood inflow, i've had the arterial angiogram to rule out arterial blood blockage, another test (i forget the name) to measure venous leakage, and then the D.I.C.C. (dynamic infusion cardiosography cavernosogram -- i think that's the name) which is the most sophisticated of the tests thatmeasures both inflow and outflow pressures to definitly rule in or our physical or mental causes. For me, all these tests were normal, and which lead to the conslusion it's psychogenic (i.e., the plumbing is okay, but the brain signals for arousal are mixed up). its long story but i have a history of sexual abuse as a kid that probably fuhked me up, but i'm working through it and gaining progress. So, best of luck with both of you guys. Some questions that might give clarity -- do you have nocturnal erections and do you wake up with a hard-on? If so, that indicates that it maybe a psychogenic cause. Can you masterbate by yourself with out ED and stay hard, but when you have sex with your mate you lose your erection? If so, that indicates probably a psychogenic cause too. If you can perform 100% perfectly in once circumstance (i.e., low stress situtions) and can't perform under other circumstances (i.e., high stress, performance anxiety, expectations of mate, etc.) then it would indicate your plumbing is fine, but that there's a psychogenic cause in effect. With psychogenic causes, they ususally refer you to a sex therapist, and also prescribe viagra or cialus -- i take 20mg cialus every other day per my urologist and sex therapists, and that has helped alot. Okay guys, best of luck. I feel for your b/c i'm relatively young and stuggling with ED. It sucks, but its not hopeless. You can email me directly if you have any other questions (ecgnyc@...) you want to ask directly. So, do your own research (there's a ton of information on the web, but be careful, b/c some companies are trying to just make a buck on another's missfortune), and get to a urologist and get a second opinion. Okay, good luck. peace, eric

p.s. Hey Mayureshu, i just sent a bigger email response, but just wanted to follow up and ask what meds you take? Anti-depressants are notorious for causing ED -- either interfere's with erections, or interferes with ejaculation. That what added to my ED. Plus, it sounds like you are pretty anxious about this problem (which is totally understandable) but i'm guessing (like it did with me) that whatever your initial cause of you ED, the anxiety surrounding sex and erections is adding to you ED issues. That happened to me too. And, definitely, excessive masterbation does not cause ED. Once you get the answer to the CAUSE of your ED, then you can tackle this and overcome it. Remember, there is hope to conquering your ED -- first step is seeing a professional -- a urologist that will listen to you and perform the right tests. How is your general health otherwise? peace, Eric
